Our Process

Insurance Eligibility
Most insurance companies provide coverage for ABA therapy, as it is a medical necessity. A team member will work with you, and your insurance company, to determine if ABA is a covered benefit under your plan. This team member, will work with you to collect the required documents for insurance, including an ASD diagnosis report and a prescription for ABA services from a medical professional. If your child does not yet have a diagnosis, we can refer you to a medical professional. Once all required information is received, we will request authorization for an assessment. Once the assessment is approved, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst will be in contact with you to schedule an assessment.

Assessment and Treatment Plan
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will reach out to you and schedule a time to come to your home for an assessment. The BCBA will work with your child and speak with you to discuss concerns and expected outcomes. Based on the results of the assessment and meetings, the BCBA will create an individualized treatment plan for your child, including long term skills goals as well as a Behavior Intervention Plan, if appropriate. It will include recommended weekly hours of service. This plan will be reviewed with you and submitted to your insurance company for approval.
Therapy
A trained Behavior Technician will conduct direct ABA therapy with your child, following the treatment plan and under the BCBA’s supervision. At XYZ ABA, we believe in the whole family approach. Therefore, a BCBA will conduct parent training, to help parents carry out programs, follow the Behavior Intervention Plan and to address new concerns. The skills and behaviors mastered in the learned/trained setting will be generalized to various settings, times and people. This allows the child to take these skills out of one situation, and apply these skills in all appropriate areas of life.
