Step 2

Schedule an initial assessment

Once we receive your new patient form, a BCBA will contact you to schedule an initial assessment.  This assessment will take place in your home, at a time convenient for you.  This assessment will help us learn about your child, your family and your concerns.  The results of the assessment will be used to create your child’s individualized treatment plan.

Step 3

Start Services

Once the assessment is completed and your BCBA creates your child’s individualized treatment plan, services will begin.  These services will take place in the comfort of your own home and/or in the community and focus on your child’s individual needs.

In providing ABA services, we aim to decrease challenging and disruptive behaviors, increase appropriate behaviors and increase functional and socially significant skills.  Building and advancing communication skills is a large part in helping a child with autism reach age appropriateness.  Oftentimes, children exhibit maladaptive behaviors as a form of communication.  This may be because they have not yet learned how to express their wants and needs or because they have “lost” their words due to escalation.  Teaching children to communicate appropriately is a huge step in any ABA programs.  We work towards achieving independence and age appropriate skill level as mush as possible.  This leads to a happier child and family.
